Second day into the new week of my 5AM Club journey and I slept in! Doh! I jumped out of bed at 5:55AM so my wake up time started with a five and ended with a five but I was 55 minutes late. It’s still good but not good enough. My excuse is that I went to bed late but I don’t accept the excuse. I should have thought about my morning when I was drinking coffee lastnight!
5:55 AM Wake Up + Sweat: Not only was a late to wake up this morning, but I also struggled with energy. Connection? Whenever I fail in one area it affects all other areas. So when I eat bad it might mean I have less confidence which then means I have less energy which then means I don’t complete my exercises which then means I might start thinking negatively and then it spirals.
A bad action never stops where you leave it. It continues to roll all by itself after you have done it and moved on. You might even be in the middle of doing something really positive and worthwhile for yourself or others before the bad action from a few hours or days ago comes back around and hits you in the butt.
Same with positive actions too, they keep rolling even after you have forgotten about them. So our positive actions have to outnumber our poor actions by at least double.
But anyway, I pushed out 150 sit ups and 150 push ups. I really wanted to do 200 each but I just couldn’t. 150 was already a massive challenge. I wanted to quit at 50 push ups and 50 sit ups, so I was happy with 150 each.
6:20 Wake Up + Review: Again I wrote in my daily diary today. I really didn’t have much to say though so I probably wrote in it for 5 minutes or so.
The rest of my time I spent imagining how I would manage multiple rental properties. I do actually own a rental property but I have a family member renting it from me so it’s super easy to manage it myself. If I had the money to buy multiple residential rental properties I would have to work with property managers though. I don’t have the time or skills to deal with tenants so I would pay others to do it for me.
6:40 Wake Up + Grow: Today I read my notes from the Robin Sharma book the 5AM Club. It was good to refresh. I no longer have a copy of the 5AM Club book as I returned it to my friend who lent it to me, but I took plenty of notes as I knew it wasn’t my book.
Actually that reminds, I should probably look on Audible to see if I can get an audio version of the 5AM Club. I don’t absorb audio books as thoroughly as I do reading physical copies of the book, but I think they’re great for revisiting, reviewing or even playing in the background while I’m doing something that doesn’t require much thinking. I think it takes me at least three listens of an audiobook to get as much as I do reading a real book.
27th Day of the 5AM Club Morning Routine
So I did sleep in and I am disappointed in myself but I’m still confident that I can regroup and make this a very successful week. I think it was Tony Robbins who said something like, we should build legs under the habits and beliefs that we wish to adopt and associate negative feelings and emotions around the things that we don’t want in our life.
Or to put it another way we have to feed the good habits and behaviors and starve the bad ones. So I’m filling the food bowl of the empowering morning routine and I’m throwing the food out of the bad morning routine. I feel like I’m rambling right now but I know what I’m talking about hehe 😜
Exercise: 200 push ups, 150 sit ups, 90 minutes walk.
Diet: Again I had bread.
How Could I Improve?
Just keep focusing on the good actions I’m taking and forgive the bad actions. Don’t pretend that the bad actions are nothing though. Feel the regret, commit to changing the behavior, and move on. Feed the good dog, starve the evil dog.

I’m moving in the right direction.I’m still making mistakes but I’m getting more things right than wrong. All I have to do is improve just 1% per day and then watch the numbers grow.
