Another day done on my 66 day days of change 5AM Club challenge. After yesterday’s crazy antics it was easy to wake up at 5AM today. It was also another day filled with plenty of energy but I could feel it fading as the day went on. I haven’t been eating as well as I could be, so maybe that has something to do with my change in energy. I need to refocus.
5:00 A.M. Wake up and Move: I couldn’t achieve the same 200 sit ups as I did yesterday. I managed to do 150 sit ups and struggled with every single one past 100. I’ve also been experimenting with a few other abdominal exercises besides the crunches.
I banged out 200 push ups like usual. I wish I could say they’re getting easier but they’re not. Still, I’m pretty proud of myself for being able to do that many in a twenty minute time frame. Especially considering that I couldn’t even manage to do more than 3 half push ups at the start of 2019. That’s push ups on the knees and hands, not the feet and hands like a normal push up.
I just kept doing them each day, every day! The numbers kept increasing slowly. Then I started doing a couple of full push ups. Then I stopped doing half push ups completely as I could do proper ones. And those numbers have increased until now where I can start my morning with 200 push ups. That’s four sets of 50.
5:30 A.M. Contemplation Time: Again I also had a shower after my twenty minute work out. I also use the time in the shower to quickly say my I AM affirmations.
So I wrote in my daily diary journal like usual. I didn’t have much to say today so I wrote some affirmations for about 10 minutes.
Then I wrote about my goals as though I have achieved them in the first person. I really enjoy doing this. It lets the imagination run wild and I’m more familiar with how it feels to live with my goals achieved. Love it. Try it!
5:50 A.M. Learn: Today I definitely heard the call to prayer here in Istanbul which is playing at about 5:40. Unlike yesterday when I didn’t hear it because I was awake at 1AM!!! 😂
So I’m continuing to read the Scott Carney book What Doesn’t Kill Us. It’s a little bit scientific for me but that’s just because I don’t know a whole lot about the body and how it works. It’s something I have always wanted to learn more about, so this is a good start.
23rd Day of the 5AM Club Morning Routine
I am actually starting to enjoy this morning routine this week. I’m not going to pretend that it’s easy for me to wake up at 5AM but I’m finding it easier than I did before and I’m feeling good.
I’ve had so much energy all this week and waking up early and starting my day empowered definitely has a lot to do with it. Sure I’m working hard on various things to stay positive, motivated and healthy but it all starts with how I start my morning. My good days seem to be a continuation of how I start my morning.
Exercise: 250 push ups 150 sit ups
Diet: Ate bread and lots of chicken wings at a barbecue. I have no regrets, they were delicious!
How Could I Improve
More exercises throughout the day and be more careful with the foods I eat. It’s fine that I went to a BBQ and ate chicken wings but no bread and no sweets.
Conclusion for Day 23 of My Morning Routine
I’m doing well and I’m super proud of my progress but I need to step up to the next level. I’m judging myself compared to what I was rather than what I could be. I can be so much more if I just push myself 10 percent more than I’m currently doing.
And I mean on all levels. I should push myself more physically, mentally, spiritually, creatively, financially.. every area needs to improve. None are going backwards as I’m giving focus to all areas of my life, but they can be going forward much faster.
Still, life is good and I’m super happy being me right this very minute. I love my life.

Hope your week has been amazing!
