Well, that’s 5 days in a row of waking up at 5AM or earlier to do my hour of power morning routine. And that even includes a 1AM wake up time.. albeit accidentally! hehe. This is the first 5 days in a row since starting this new 5AM habit and I’m very proud of myself. I’ll do it again tomorrow as it’s Saturday but Sunday I won’t be setting the alarm.
5 AM Wake up and Sweat: I managed to do my 200 push ups, although it was a little more challenging than usual. But I couldn’t repeat my record 200 sit ups today. I got 150 done which is still a 50 percent increase on last week, it’s all good.
I’m definitely becoming stronger and fitter over time. Sometimes I’ll think I’ve hit my limit and just can’t push through a particular number or weight. Weeks will go past and I feel like I’m making no progress and then suddenly boom, I’ll push through massively.
Like my sit ups for example. I was stuck on 100 sit ups in the morning. I couldn’t even do 105 push ups, it felt impossible. But then suddenly I could do 150 one morning and 200 the next! It’s challenging for me to now hold that 200 but I know that this will now become my normal for a while.
5:20 AM Wake up and Contemplate: I think I’ve locked in my second twenty minute block. It’s always about ten minutes daily diary and ten minutes writing about my goals achieved in the first person.
These may change over time or perhaps I will add a ten minute block because I would also like to introduce meditation to my morning routine at some point.
5:40 AM Wake up and Learn: I reviewed some of my notes on the 5AM Club book by Robin Sharma. You should read it if you haven’t already. Even if you decide that a 5AM wake up time cannot work for you and your lifestyle, you can still use the hour of power morning routine. How we start our day is so important to how we spend the rest of our day.
So even if you cling to your 11AM wake up time you can still start your day positively. If you don’t have a spare 60 minutes to dramatically improve your life then, well.. you don’t really want to change do you?
24th Day of the 5AM Club Habit Installation
I’m very happy with myself for achieving my goal this week. I was determined to do five days in a row and I did it. I had one slight hiccup mid week when I accidentally woke up at 1AM and did my hour of power morning routine but I still did it! The focus was to never wake up late. I didn’t mention anything about being too early hehe 😁
Coincidentally (or not) I have also had an abundance of energy this week. My days have been focused and very productive. I’ve had to make some big changes with my online business this week as I’m just not making enough money and I’ve done more than I thought I could have.
So all in all, this has been a great week. I hope to repeat this next week and remain just as focused. I’ll take the peddle off the metal just slightly over the weekend, but I certainly won’t be doing anything to lower my energy too much.
Exercise: 250 push ups, 150 sit ups, used weights.
Diet: I ate the last of the bread in the house. I bought it because I needed it for a recipe but then I ended up eating it all as I don’t like throwing food away.
How Could I Improve?
It rained all day today in Istanbul so I didn’t go walking. It didn’t rain every minute of the day though, so I should have watched the weather and gone walking whenever there was a break in the rain.
Here it seems to rain and rain and rain sometimes. I expect the weather to be like in Australia where it will rain for a little while and then stop. It rarely rains for hours at a time. So I’m waiting for the rain to stop like it should but it just keeps coming.
So check the weather forecast and if says rain all day it probably means rain all day. Look for brief windows where it stops and go walking (take an umbrella).
Conclusion for the 24th Day of Changing My LIFE!!
