OK, this isn’t I AM or law of attraction related in any way, but it might be helpful if you have your own WordPress blog (doesn’t everyone have their own blog these days?). So, with this new editing format, which I believe is called Gutenberg, many things have changed. The thing that was bugging me most was, where is the word count for the article?!
Previously it was just at the bottom of the page and you could see it easily, but I couldn’t see it anywhere on the new WordPress editing layout.
So after much tinkering, a little clicking, and one Google search I found the answer to the question: Where is the word count for articles on the Gutenberg WordPress editor?
See the five images above the article? Second from the right is an “i” with a circle around it. If you hover over it it will say “content structure” and give you information on the article that you’re currently working on. If I check the details of this article that I’m writing about the WordPress wordcount, then it says.. 188 words, zero headings, 4 paragraphs, and 6 blocks.
So, there you have it. I hope that has helped somebody! I don’t even know why it’s so important to me as I have no set number of words that I makes posts. Some will be 100 words, some will be 1000, but I just like to know. And now I know how to do it again. Woohoo! This article is now.. about 256 words..
